Fostering is caring for children in your own home who are unable to live with their own families. Fostering a child is highly rewarding experience for anyone wanting to make a difference to the life of a child or young person.
People decide to foster for a variety of reasons.
Some Foster Carers want to continue caring for children after their own children have left home, or alongside their own children continuing to share their love and support to children in need.
Others may have never been parents before, but want to give love and care to our foster children who really need it.
We offer a generous support package for people who want to foster, so it can also be seen as an additional career and source of income.
We need carers from all backgrounds that have the ability to meet the needs of children they care for.
Foster caring in Waltham Forest is open to anyone willing to open their homes to our foster children and offer them the support they need in life.
You will need to have a spare bedroom to care for a child aged over two, or have space in your bedroom for a cot and be fully available if you are interested in caring for a baby (under two years old).
You can be a home owner or rent your home.
It doesn't matter if you are a single person, LGBTQ or have a particular faith. We are always looking for people from all different walks of life and don't discriminate against age (you must be over 21), race, gender or faith. Waltham Forest are members of New Family Social.
