Online Training and Workshops

If you would like to access online training then please email  fostering@walthamforest.gov.uk  who can arrange access for you.  You will be sent the list of current online courses available and given your own individual account which you can access at your convenience from any PC/Mac.  

We also have a number of workshops available to attend later this year. Please click on the courses for the sign-up link. There is a description of each courses' content below the table.

  1. Drugs Awareness Workshop – delivered by the CGL (Change Grow Live - commissioned harmful substances service for LBWF) – covers the links to harmful substances and exploitation, trauma, gangs exposure via drugs, harmful substance trends on the streets of Waltham Forest, what the CGL do and the support available in Waltham Forest.
     
  2. Digital Harms Awareness Workshop – delivered by GAMCARE - covers Gaming, Gambling, Loot Boxes, Freemium Games, Esports and Crypto Gambling sites linked to exploitation risks and safeguarding advice/options, what GAMCARE do and support available.

  3. Social Media Safety Awareness Workshop – delivered by LBWF YARS (Youth At Risk Service) - covers the use of social media linked to exploitation risks and safeguarding advice/options, what the LBWF YARS Team do and the available support.
  4. Sexual Health Awareness Workshop – delivered by LBWF Sexual Health Outreach Team. This workshop will empower parents and carers and professional partners to broach the topic of sexual health with young people, share knowledge of local service provision, the c card scheme and how to look after our health in terms of asymptomatic screening.
  5. Prevent (WRAP) Awareness Workshop - delivered by the LBWF Prevent Team. The purpose of this workshop is to raise awareness of the exploitation risk factors linked to radicalisation vulnerable children and their families may face and to empower parents/carers and professional partners and the support that it available in LBWF.
  6. Gangs Awareness Workshop – delivered by PC Graham YJS POLICE and LBWF YARS (Youth At Risk Service) - covers the links to exploitation, trauma via gangs. Current gang tensions, conflicts, territories, grooming (CSE and CCE), social media use by gangs, what the LBWF YARS do and the available support in Waltham Forest.
  7. Stop & Search Awareness Workshop – delivered by Spark2Life. The purpose of this workshop is to raise awareness on a young person’s rights during a police stop and search and the support available to empower parents/carers to support their young people and what Spark2Life do.
