CORE Training

Core Training

Core training events are essential to your ongoing professional development.  It is expected that carers complete Core training at least every three years, or more often if you feel that you require a refresher.

As of 2026 the following courses are considered as CORE:

• Attachment, Loss and Separation
• Contact (Family Time)
• Safeguarding and Child Protection
• Health and Safety
• First Aid
• Recording and Communication Skills
• Safer Caring

Carers are also required to complete three Mandatory courses, just once.  These are:

• Delegated Authority
• Equality and Diversity
• Hate Crime and Prevent (formerly WRAP/Prevent)
